Terms of Service
By accessing or using Pass HK Exams ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Pass HK Exams is operated as a sole trader and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Hong Kong Marine Department (MARDEP) or any government body.
Educational Disclaimer
Pass HK Exams is an independent educational tool only. It is designed to help candidates prepare for the PVOC2 (Pleasure Vessel Operator Certificate Grade 2) examinations administered by the Hong Kong Marine Department.
- Questions and content are written for educational purposes and do not constitute official MARDEP exam material.
- We make no guarantee that completing our question bank will result in passing the PVOC2 examination.
- All navigation rules, regulations, and technical information should be verified against official sources including the Hong Kong Merchant Shipping Ordinance and ColRegs.
- Pass HK Exams does not replace formal instruction, practical training, or official study materials.
- We are not responsible for any decisions made based on content provided by the Service.
Subscription & Billing
Access to Pass HK Exams requires a monthly subscription of HK$250/month, billed via Stripe. By subscribing you authorise recurring monthly charges until you cancel.
- Cancellation: You may cancel at any time via the Stripe customer portal. Access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: To protect our intellectual property, we do not offer refunds unless required under applicable law.
- Changes to pricing: We will give at least 30 days' notice of any price changes via email.
- Payment processing: All payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Access & Acceptable Use
Your subscription grants you personal, non-transferable access to the Service. You may not:
- Share your account credentials with others
- Reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any content from the Service
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract the question bank
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms without refund.
Privacy Policy
We take your privacy seriously. This section explains what data we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Email address — provided when you subscribe, used to verify your account access.
- Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Usage data — your quiz scores and progress are stored in your account. We do not collect or transmit this data.
- Basic analytics — we may use Cloudflare's anonymous traffic analytics to understand site usage. No personal data is collected.
How we use your data
- Your email is used solely to verify your active subscription when you log in.
- We do not sell, share, or rent your personal data to third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
- We may contact you regarding your subscription (billing, service updates, or cancellation).
Data retention
Your email and subscription data is held by Stripe for as long as you are a customer. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us. Progress data stored in your browser can be cleared by clearing your browser's local storage.
Third parties
Cookies
Pass HK Exams does not use tracking cookies. We collate your progress across all your devices for your benefit. We do not have access to this data.
